Old tax forms, bank statements or bills shouldn't be thrown away or left around the house. Bring up to 4 banker boxes to be shredded and help protect yourself. This event is FREE and open to anyone in the community. Mark your calendars. No RSVP is necessary to attend. We hope to see you there!

Let's come together to honor and celebrate the vibrant tradition of Dia de los Muertos! This special event is open to the entire community and promises to be a day filled with cultural richness, joy, and remembrance.

  • Community Altar: Contribute to our community altar by bringing photos and mementos of your loved ones. It's a beautiful way to remember and honor their lives.

  • Dance Performances: Watch captivating dance performances inspired by Mexican traditions.

Pet Adoption Event

Please join Glen Oaks Memorial Park for our Pet Adoption Event on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 10:00am-1:00pm! We've partnered with Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue to bring you your new best friend! Not only that, but you can also have a complimentary hotdog and chips (while supplies last) as well as play pet care trivia, a free gift basket raffle, and take a tour! Dia de los Muertos Event

We invite the community to bring a copy of a picture of their loved one who has passed with their name, year of birth, and year of death, for a short memorial at the ShareLife event. Share a memory of a family member, loved one, or friend who has passed away. Families and friends will be able to display on a Memorial Wall at the event.

  • 10:00am:  Complimentary Coffee & Tamales
  • 11:00am-1:00pm: Dia de los Muertos Face Painting (face painting by Alma from Salon J.)
  • 11:00am-1:00pm: Mariachi Mixteco Performance
  • 12:00pm-1:00pm: Free Burrito Lunch served by Kalico Kitchen Catering (Note: The food is complimentary. It will be served while it lasts.)
  • 1:00pm-2:00pm: Memorial Ceremony - Reading of names of loved ones
  • 2:00pm-3:30pm: Families invited to share memories of their loved ones
  • 3:30pm-4:00pm: Gift baskets raffled at the event

Chico Cemetery History Tour

Go back in time and explore the almost 170 year history of Chico Cemetery and how it came to be by joining us on September 10th at 9:00am for our History Tour. On this walking tour, you will visit many iconic monuments and encounter notables such as military heroes, pioneers, gold miners, General Bidwell, and Annie Bidwell. They will share their stories and show you how they helped make Chico what it is today.
