Obituary of Jo Ann Bowman

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Jo Ann Catherine Bowman, 84 of Chico, on Friday, November 27, 2009 at 2 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Jo Ann departed for heaven on Monday, November 23, 2009. She was born September 2, 1925 to Edward and Mary Ann Herring in Cleveland, Ohio. Jo Ann graduated from UCLA in 1948 and in 1951 married Earl Bowman in Hollywood, Ca. There is no more noble calling in life than motherhood for which Jo Ann exemplified and magnified beyond measure. Jo Ann was a lover of art, music and dance and was a ballet instructor at Barbara's Dance Studio in Chico. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Earl Bowman of Chico; ten children, James, Joseph, David, Timothy, Francis, Mary, William, Janet, Katy, and Kristy; many grand children and great grandchildren, too numerous to count. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. 12 noon Friday at Brusie Funeral Home. Donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation in care of the funeral home.
