Obituary of Clarence Wood

CLARENCE "BUD" WOOD 1-06-1929 to 3-06-2012 Born at 1287 Citrus Ave, Chico, CA, in the front bedroom to Rolland T. and Luella M. Wood. Clarence "Bud" Wood was born into a large family and continued that tradition with his wife of 64 years, Laurie Wood. He is survived by his wife, Laurie Wood; his sons, Michael D. and D. Lynn Wood, Andrew J. and Margo Wood, and Brad L. and Carolyn Wood, all of Chico, CA; grandchildren, Jennifer and Scot McDonald, Valerie and Joseph Watkins, Nicholas and Cassie Wood, Brett and Tiffany Wood, Matt Wood, Dillon Wood, Jake Wood and Victoria Wood; 8 great-grandchildren, and Jillie and Billie, his beloved dogs. He was preceded in death by his son, Todd L. Wood. In July, 1970 after the death of his son, Todd L. Wood in the Vietnam War, they dedicated the flag pole at the Glen Oaks Cemetery. Bud founded North Valley Redi-Mix in February, 1972 with his sons. Bud was a member of the local Elks Lodge, Durham Good Sam's Club, Native Son's of the Golden West, and the E Clampus Vitus. The Celebration of Life will be held at Brusie Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2012. In lieu of flowers, all donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association or Butte Humane Society.
