Obituary of Lizzie Scott

Lizzie Nellie Scott of Chico died September 5, 2013. She was born on January 9, 1932 in Gary, Texas, to Rev. Bert and Sealie Ann Solomon. She married Alois Scott Sr. in 1947. Lizzie was director of The People That Care Center of Chico from 1983 to 1996. She worked to help the community during the 1960s and 1970s. She was a member of Second Baptist church of Chico and was named Senior Citizen of 1995 by the Chico City Council. Lizzie is survived by three children; Alois Scott Jr., Kathryn Manent'o and Tamarian Bayandourians, and twenty-five grandchildren an great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Dorothy Johnson and Lacy and Bill Solomon. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her children, Derann, David, Kirk, Marvella and Doris Scott, and four siblings. Brusie Funeral Home is handling the funeral, which will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Fifth & Flume Sts., Chico.
