Obituary of Annette Marion Spanutius

On Saturday, June 19th, 2021, Annette Marion Spanutius, loving mother, sister and friend to many, passed away peacefully at the age of 73 in Chico, CA. Annette was born on December 16th, 1947 in Ft. Riley Kansas to Edward & Wilma (Billie) Spanutius. She spent her youth as an Army brat living in various US cities as well as Okinawa, Germany and Korea. She graduated from Rutgers University in 1969 with degrees in English & Psychology. Annette lived in Chico, CA for 40+ years and dedicated her life to helping others through her work with MSSP, Passages, Caring Choices, Alzheimer's Association, and multiple non-profits and volunteer organizations. Through her decades of service to the community she touched many lives and left lasting impressions on those who knew her. Her creativity, passion, sense of humor and compassion for others will forever be remembered by her colleagues and friends. She loved to share her passion for music, art, and cooking with those around her and her laugh will forever ring in the ears of her loved ones. Annette was preceded in death by her father, Edward, her mother, Billie, her son, Randy and her brother, Edward. She is survived by her son, Sean Welch and his wife Jackie, two grandchildren, Owen and Brennen, her three sisters, Christine Klingman, Kathi Neel and Jennifer Cipolla, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the American Kidney Fund (www.kidneyfund.org) who supported her and millions of others in their fight against kidney disease.
