Obituary of Alexander Travis Bennett

Beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and cousin passed away July 3, 2021 at the age of 35 years, in Chico, CA. He is survived by his father, Thomas Bennett (Robin) and his mother, Vicky Southworth; his sister, Aaron (Bennett) Potter (Brian); and brother, Anthony Bennett (Carla, Hope, & Hayden); his stepbrother, Nathan Locke; his stepsister, Kimberly (Locke) Russell (Austin & Connor). Grandfather, Loren Bennett; grandmother, Christine Southworth; aunts and uncles, Lisa (Bennett) Epperly (Ray); Lee & Cheryl Bennett; and Kevin Southworth (April); Russ Buss; many cousins and their families; April, Danielle, Nathan, Caleb; Angela, Alisha, Atalia all of whom he was close to, and fond of their shared times together. Alex was born December 30, 1985, and raised in his hometown of Paradise, CA. He was goodnatured and loved to be outdoors. Alex had excellent visual acuity and attention to detail, following his father into the construction trade, to become an excellent Painter of commercial and residential buildings for over 16 years. During his stay at Enloe Hospital, he liked to share with staff that he had painted the hospital wing he was then in. He was always open to learning new things and loved talking to people. When he was not working, he was recreating, camping, fishing, or off-roading. He valued his friends, family, and a balance of life. After the Camp Fire, Alex struggled to maintain this balance, succumbing to alcohol and its affects. We all will miss Alex, but take comfort in knowing he’s “gone fishing”. Alex’s last wish was, that those desiring to, donate or plant a tree. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brusiefh.com . A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10 a.m. PRPD/Terry Ashe Park, 6626 Skyway, Paradise, CA.
