Obituary of Robert Luis Teran

Robert Luis Teran, age 50, passed away unexpectedly on August 10th, 2021 at his home in Cohasset, CA. He was born on July 12, 1971 in Alameda, CA to parents Roberta Louise Krahmer of Fairmont, MN, and father Luis Eusebio Teran of Mazatlán, Mexico. He spent his early childhood in the Gridley/Biggs area, then later moved to Chico, CA where he attended Chico Junior High School and graduated from Fairview High School in 1989.

Robert was an extremely hard-working and reliable man. He spent much of his career doing commercial and residential maintenance in Chico, including for Holiday Inn, Chico Mall, CUSD, and multiple large apartment complexes. Over the years, Robert received several commendations and awards recognizing his strong work ethic.

Robert’s biggest passion in life was music. He was a walking encyclopedia of rock bands and collected hundreds of CDs, cassettes, and records. An avid listener of local radio, he enjoyed all genres of music, particularly metal & rock, both old and new alike. Robert loved live music and attended many concerts.

Robert treasured life’s simple pleasures. He lived a rustic mountain life in Cohasset, CA where he enjoyed spending his time being in nature, visiting with his children, raising chickens, riding his motorcycle and quad, blasting his favorite music, and throwing back a cold beer while BBQing with his friends and loved ones.

Robert is survived by his mother Roberta Teran, and his three beloved children; William and Emma, whom he shared with his former wife Cynthia Panzer, and his youngest son Jesse, whom he shared with Caitlin Downs.

Robert is also survived by his close friends of many decades- Aaron, Mike, and JD, whom he regarded as “the brothers he never had”.

Always taking time to listen to people’s stories or lend a helping hand, Robert was loved and cherished by many. He will be deeply missed.

A graveside service will be held at Noon on Sunday, October 17 at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at the end of Harvey Road in Cohasset. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 PM at the Cohasset Community Association located at 11 Maple Creek Ranch Road in Cohasset.
