Obituary of Margean Ruth Huwe

Margean Ruth Huwe passed away peacefully on September 1st, 2021. Born in Parkers Prairie Minnesota on September 4th, 1934, Margean and her husband Duane moved their family to Chico California in 1962. Margean was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her calm unselfish demeanor, and unconditional love for her family was felt by all. She remembered everyone’s birthdays and always called or sent a card to acknowledge the day. She wasn’t one to offer unsolicited advice but was always willing to listen and she prayed for everyone in need. She was a tireless homemaker but also worked as a bookkeeper and retired from the J.C. Penney Company. In 2007, Margean moved to Sycamore Glen in Chico where she thrived for 11 years. It was there that her personality began to blossom. She was very active and could be found playing pool, bingo, or listening to music among other things. She was outgoing and welcoming, and always had a new joke to share. Margean fought a long, courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease and was instrumental in securing a meeting space for the Chico Parkinson’s Support Group at Sycamore Glen. In 2018 she moved to Windsor Chico Care where she was an active resident and spent many hours Wii bowling with her friend Mimi. Margean was a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she played organ, sang in the choir, and volunteered with the Mary Martha Society, the Sunshine Committee, and the Quilters Guild. Margean was preceded in death by her husband Duane Huwe, her parents Herbert and Dora Bremmer, and her brother Donald Bremmer. Margean is survived by her 3 children, Liz (Keith) Lindquist, Carla (Craig) Geyer, and Alan (Valerie) Huwe. She was the proud Grandmother of 7 Grandchildren: Dana (Ronnie) Riisager, Kyle (Brittany) Lindquist, Kevin Lindquist, Luke (Megan) Geyer, Brian (Angela) Huwe, Kaitlin Huwe, and Brad Huwe, and 9 Great-Grandchildren: Dylan and Chloe Riisager, Kacen Cook, Dylan, Hannah, Colton and Cash Jones, Jack and Beckham Lindquist, and Ava Huwe. Her nephews Ryan and Howard Bremmer, niece Bonnie Lomen, the Labs family, and dear friends Vince and Erma Wilke and their son Keith held a special place in her heart. Funeral services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church at 1355 Hawthorne Avenue, Chico CA on Wednesday September 15th, at 11AM. A graveside service will follow at Chico Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Brusie Funeral Home. Visit www.brusiefh.com for information and The Music Therapy Impact Fund donation link. Margean LOVED Music!
