Jesse Klobas

Obituary of Jesse Klobas

Jesse Joseph Klobas, age 44, passed away November 11, 2021, in Chico, California.

Jesse, born to Bill and Dale Klobas, entered this world on January 31st, 1977. He was a carefree and happy kid whom everyone gravitated towards. He grew-up in Paradise, CA surrounded by many friends and family. Jesse loved Northern California and while he spent time in Idaho, Alaska and New Zealand, Northern California was always ‘home’ in his heart.

He had a passion for skateboarding that was unparalleled. He developed many decade-long friendships at the skate parks, and throughout Paradise and Santa Cruz, as he was constantly looking for new places to ride on his various travel adventures. He is remembered by these friends and loved ones as being a kind and easy-going person who mastered the art of lifelong friendship. He was incredibly talented, and worked hard enjoying his life on his terms. Jesse was thrilled to have purchased his dream Harley Davidson motorcycle last year and loved riding that bike. He had aspirations of taking it to many travel destinations and often shared pictures with the caption ‘The dreams alive…’

Jesse graduated from Chico State University with his degree in Geology. He always had a love for rocks and the Earth and as he ventured into his career of Drilling, he would often share philosophical stories highlighting his intelligence and hard work. He had a way with storytelling that would keep people captivated for hours.

On September 11th, 2006 Jesse welcomed into the world his pride and joy, his son, Jackson Royal. Jesse lived every day thereafter sharing his life passions with Jack. He assisted with coaching Jack’s baseball teams, sharing experiences at the Giants and A’s home games, sharing his love of great music and playing guitar, inspired by his favorite musician, Johnny Cash, adventuring to Santa Cruz, and skateboarding. Jesse loved being a father and cherished the time he spent with his son. Anytime someone asked Jesse about Jack, he lit up and was eager to share his stories about the two of them exploring their passions together, and how he relished in every milestone as Jack grew into his place in this world.

Jesse was so fortunate to have found the love of his life, Leah Shafsky, to spend some of his final years in a relationship that brought him so much love, laughter and joy. He was especially proud of the garden he planted with Leah and often shared stories of the plans they had for the life they were building together.

Jesse is survived by his son Jackson Royal Klobas (Chico, CA), his father and mother Bill and Dale Klobas (Swan Valley, ID), his brother Kelly (Teri) Klobas (Swan Valley, ID), his sister Casey (Brandon) Byington (Boise, ID), his brother Brian (Hannah) Klobas (Cincinnati, OH) and three nieces.
