Obituary of Anita Legene Michaeli

Anita “Ginger” Michaeli passed away on November 8, 2021 in Chico.  No funeral service will be held at her request.

Ginger was born on January 27, 1932 in Los Angeles, CA to Gilbert and Melba Thormahlen.  In 1971 she married Walt Michaeli in Anaheim, CA.  They moved to Chico in 1976.

Ginger was very artistic, she enjoyed China painting, gardening, sewing, cooking, reading the Bible and caring for her dogs.

She was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers and Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary.

Her survivors include her children, John (Diane) Benedict of Austin, TX, Terry Freeman of Hillsboro, MO, and Tammy Larabee of Chico;  John Salyer of Chico; thirteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Walt, in 2019.

Donations may be made in her name to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.  Arrangements are under the direction of Bidwell Chapel.
