Todd & I were saddened to learn the news, and our hearts go out to Albert’s entire family. Professor Richardson was, without question, the most dedicated and skilled Principal Investigator I assisted in my years as a university research administrator. He did all grant team organization and proposal writing “to the letter” and at great expense to his leisure time. But It was clear that he had the academic interests and success of engineering students in mind. And he wanted young Americans to be exposed to international collaboration - that they should not forget how effective and rewarding cross-border exchanges could be. Like music, I believe Albert thought engineering was a common language to bring the world together for progress. I know Chico State was the better for Albert’s work, and I will cherish the last phone call I had with him. We join many others in missing him and we rejoice in his life and many accomplishments. I want to imagine him discussing his favorite engineering research plans in Heaven. Peace be with Albert’s family, friends and colleagues during this time of grief, remembrance, and healing. Todd & Jen Harris

My brother and friend Emeritus Prof. Ebo, I feel like I lost an emotional and intellectual organ. But what does one call that “body-part”? Fran keeps reminding me that you tried so hard to make a practical person out of me. I assure you that your work was not in vain. I’m just a slow learner.
Your ASPAU brothers will always remember how you taught us not to get too caught up in talk-talk, that action too matters. You kept reminding us that “Ghana yɛwɔ adze a oye!” And now we find we have lost “nipa a oye.” Thankfully, your exuberance, zest for life, enthusiasm, honesty, humility, and kindness live on in the numerous ways you have encouraged so many, including people outside your own family – especially your ASPAU brothers, lecturers, teachers, and students at all levels (with ideas, scholarships, books, computers, musical instruments …)
Our elders say: Amewo katã meɖoa afɔ kpe dzi wokpɔnɛ dzea sii o (Ewe). Not all foot-prints are detectable on a stone (#africanproverbs). But Brother Ebo, your foot-prints are all over the place. Rest in peace. Wo ne Nyame nkɔ.
Mpanyinfo se: Aboa a onni dua Nyame na ɔpra ne ho. Auntie Cecilia and Kojo, Effie, and Elvert, and your descendants: Fran joins me with the prayer, Nyame wɔ hɔ.

TRIBUTE BY PROVOST OF THE COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, KNUST, KUMASI-GHANA
I am deeply saddened to hear of the news of the death of a distinguished authority in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Prof. Emeritus Albert Ebo Odontoh Richardson.
It was with a great sense of pleasure to sign his letter appointing him as the first Chairman of the International Scientific Advisory Board of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Engineering Education Project.
I joined a few of their quarterly meetings and was struck by his passion and deep understanding of engineering education globally. I was more than convinced in my mind that an excellent choice was made in appointing him as Chairman.
During the last meeting I joined in the month of July 2021, I was glad to hear that some of the ISAB members were planning to visit Ghana and i pleaded with them to pass by KNUST for a visit upon arrival. Unfortunately, Prof. Richardson has been called to higher glory.
My deepest condolences to the spouse, Cecelia and his 3 lovely children. May the Good Lord grant him eternal rest.

TRIBUTE BY MANAGEMENT OF THE KNUST ENGINEERING EDUCATION PROJECT
It is with a heavy heart that we pay tribute to the memory of Prof. Albert Ebo Odontoh Richardson popularly known as Ebo who distinguished himself in all spheres of life.
Prof. Richardson was appointed the first Chairman of the International Scientific Advisory Board (ISAB) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Engineering Education Project in 2019. The main aim of the KEEP is to strengthen postgraduate engineering education at the College of Engineering. The ISAB is to provide relevant input into our research to ensure that it is relevant and addressing developmental challenges especially in the Africa sub-region.
Prof. Richardson though not an alumnus of the university executed the mandate with a lot of passion and ensured that he never missed any of our quarterly meetings nor our special meetings. Ebo being an authority in the field of engineering provided very useful and critical suggestions during all these meetings. One thing we will remember him for is how crucial it was for him for students of engineering to have state of the art laboratories to undertake research. He was also a strong advocate of technology-based-start-ups for small businesses to create jobs.
He was always present during seminars, workshops and symposia. It was therefore a surprise to us when he missed the last capacity building workshop. That was uncharacteristic of him and we felt that something wasn't right. Our suspicion was confirmed when he sent a message a few days later that due to his ill health, he wanted to hand over the Chairmanship of the ISAB. Even though very ill at the time and not knowing what the future held for him, he ensured that the activities of the ISAB should not stall because of him.
We will sincerely miss Prof. Richardson, we really will but we take consolation in the belief that he has gone to be with his maker who he wholeheartedly dedicated his life to. May the good Lord grant him eternal rest till we meet again on the glorious day of resurrection.

I pray that our grief be assuaged and that our cherished memories of Brother Ebo sustain our enormous pride and joy in having had him as a friend. Brother Ebo was a man of action. He was so generous with his time and other resources that it may be truly said that "there were no places, no instances and no circumstances that ever prevented him from being there for his fellow man." Rest in peace, my fellow ASPAU Brother Ebo. You will be greatly missed.
