Robert Carpenter

Obituary of Robert John Carpenter

Robert Carpenter passed away on March 27, 2022.  Born September 8, 1969 at Wheeler Hospital in Gilroy, CA. to parents Bob and Eva Carpenter.  He is survived by his siblings David Carpenter, Karen Ivanick, Linda M. Carpenter and Nancy Yu.
Robert was raised in the loving community of Gilroy, CA.  As a youth, he was active in sports. He is remembered by his teammates on the Gilroy Blazers soccer team as an excellent player who ran like a bull.  He was known for his powerful left kick, second to none!  He attended Palma High School, graduating class of 1988.  Robert had an entrepreneurial spirit. At a young age, he started the Gilroy Bagel Co with his brother.
In 1990, he moved to Chico, CA. to join his close friends and go to college.  He attended the Fire Science Academy at Butte College and was a member of Delta Psi Delta fraternity.  Robert had a great love of nature and enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing with his close friends
Robert was a beautiful soul.  He was very kind, caring and compassionate. He was fiercely loyal and cared deeply for those close to him.  This quote from one of his fraternity brothers, Josh Sharon, best captures his spirit:
“Robert had charisma galore.  Always a witty retort ready, hard working, and a spirit of mischievous adventure ready for the journey.  One thing stood out always; a man with a good heart and positive intentions.”
A celebration of life will be held at Delta Psi Delta House, 318 Hazel St. Chico, CA on Friday, April 15th 2022 starting at 3p.m.  There will also be a memorial gathering for Robert in Gilroy, CA at Christmas Hill Park on Sunday, April 17th 2022 starting at 3 p.m. All are welcome to attend both services.
