Obituary of Andria Clara Gilbert

ANDRIA "ANDI" CLARA GILBERT Andria "Andi" Clara Gilbert was peacefully called to her creator the evening of April 4, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones.

Born Andria Clara Bruce June 24, 1952 in Antioch, CA, she moved to the family farm in Glenn, CA in 1961 where she attended Bayliss School through 8th grade. She attended Healds Business College in Sacramento, CA after graduating from Willows High School in 1970. In 1972 she married Gene L. Gilbert of Orland, CA, the love of her life. She lived and farmed in Bayliss, CA until 2002. She moved to Chico, CA and worked at CSU, Chico until her retirement in 2018.

Andi is survived by her loving husband Gene, daughters Valerie and Rebecca, 2 grand children Tyler and Trinity and 1 great grand daughter Lilith. A celebration of life is scheduled for April 30th 1 pm. Please contact Gene for more info.

As the oldest child she was a consummate family matriarch. She spent her life taking care of others. She hosted all family holidays. She was a family caregiver. She passed on her love of horseback riding to her children. In late adulthood she was famous for hosting a Fourth of July party on her family's property in Fort Bragg, CA. She has deep ties to the Chico community. Her grandfather Carlton was the only Chico police officer killed in the line of duty and her grandmother Jessica Weems lived at Bidwell mansion when it was a women's college dorm. Known by many as gramma andi, auntie andi or simply mom. She loved and cared for all who entered her orbit.
