Obituary of Joan Isom

A graveside service will be held for Joan Yvonne Isom on Saturday, May 7th at 2 p.m. at Chico Cemetery.

Joan passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, April 22, 2022.

She was born on January 4, 1941 in Manhattan Beach, CA to Edward and Charlotte Winnen.  Joan graduated from Pacific High School in San Bernardino, CA and moved to Northern California with her husband, Peter Anderson and settled in Chico in 1963.  In 1974 Joan remarried to Howard Isom.  

Joan and Howard traveled the world on business and pleasure.  They enjoyed incorporating their love of tennis and golf into their travels and their social lives.  She was known for her competitive spirit.  

Her survivors are her husband Howard Isom; son, Rob ( Erika) Anderson; step daughter, Kimi (Tommy) Norris; step son, Sean (Susan) Isom;  three grandchildren, Michael, Mardi and Lauren; three step grandchildren, Ryan, Dominick and Jordan.   Joan was preceded in death by her daughter Paige Skillern in 2003.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Butte Humane Society in care of Brusie Funeral Home.
