Obituary of Marjorie June Pool

MARJORIE (DENTON) POOL Marjorie (Denton) Pool, age 94, of Chico, California passed away April 19, 2022 from natural causes.

Born on April 12, 1928 in rural NE Wyoming, Marjorie and her family would soon move to Northern California and settle in Willows. She was educated in Willows elementary schools and went on to graduate from Willows high school in 1948. During this time she would come to live with Lester and Imogene Lederer who fostered her during her teen years.

After high school she attended business school near Sacramento, California and then worked for the California Milk Board. She met her husband Ralph J Pool through the Lederers and the local skating rink where she and Ralph were often seen skating together. Marjorie and Ralph were married April 17, 1949. They would go on to have three children, Gary, Steven and Pamela. The family moved to Chico in the summer of 1968.

Marjorie, Margie to her family and friends, enjoyed hosting her Bridge club and was also a good poker player. She always looked forward to the days spent with her family whether in her garden, at Diamond Lake, Oregon or teaching her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews how to play golf. With one of her pot roasts, hot from the oven, vegetables from the garden, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and friends she was in her happy place.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 28th, 2022 at 2:00pm at the Glen Oaks Memorial Park 11115 Midway, Chico, CA 95928.
