Obituary of Carl Bruce Leverenz

Carl died at his home in Chico on Monday, April 25, 2022.  At his request no service will be held. He was born on July 1, 1940, to Carl and Lucille Leverenz. Carl graduated from Chico High School, Chico State and UC Berkeley Law.

Carl’s list of accomplishments, memberships and awards are too long to name.  His most recent and favorite were his 48 year Chairmanship of the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO), 13 Aces Coffee Group, Chico Noon Exchange Club and the Chico Elks Lodge.

His survivors include his wife Betsy, daughter Emily (Kristopher) Scivoletto; two sisters Pamela Levine and Cynthia (Dennis) Suskind as well as his brother and sister-in-law Chip and Lorri Meriam.

In lieu of flowers the family would be grateful for donations to be made in his name to the Enloe Foundation or the Butte Humane Society.
