Ruby Slippers and Purple Suede Heels Dorothy had her ruby slippers give to her by Glinda, The Good Witch. I had my royal purple suede high heels given me by Billie, Oldest Sister. Dorothy Lived in Kansas and was 12ish. I lived in Utah and was 7ish. Remarkably those high heels fit my third-grade feet! They added to my delight in clamp-on earrings, stylish sisters, beautiful textiles, lantern pants and quilting. Billie, your gifts of love have nurtured my appreciation of kindness, equity, imagination, silliness, and patience. You are my Glinda!
