Obituary of Tara Lynn Becraft

Tara Becraft was pure sunshine, even in life’s difficult times. She was the hostess with the mostest, and enjoyed hosting celebrations (for just about anything) and holidays for all the people she loved. Tara loved music, flowers, crafting, being near water, and most of all laughing with her family and friends - who also became family. She could light up a room with her joyful smile, and silly sense of humor. Her loss is a tremendous one for all that knew her. She left us too soon.

Tara was born in Suffern, NY to Carol and Ronald Becraft. Tara attended community college in upstate New York, and continued in Aptos, CA then made her way to Chico, CA where she earned a Bachelor's degree from Chico State. Later she and Steve Moore opened “Pegasus” a well known gift and import shop in downtown Chico. Tara then worked at a number of financial institutions and finally Chico State Enterprises, where she was analyst on a number of grant funded projects.

Tara also turned her crafting talents into a venture - vending at a number of craft fairs selling her jewelry, scarfs, lavender sachets, neck wraps, tooth fairy pillows and more. No one was a stranger to Tara, and she made friends everywhere she went. She was quick to embrace everyone she met with friendly conversation as if she’d known them for years.

Tara is survived by her mother, Carol Conklin, brother, Todd Becraft, daughter, Molly Becraft, stepdaughters Lissa and Stephanie Moore and grandchildren - Isabella Galvao, Eryn Swenson, Silas Burr, Arya Leonard, and Maddox Kodad.

The family will notify loved ones on more details, however; the Celebration of Tara’s Life will be held on March 25th, 2023
