Obituary of Francisco Moralez Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial for "Frankie" Francisco Moralez Jr., 75 of Chico, will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 10 am. He was at home with his family when he passed on to be with Our Creator his Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 5, 2023. Frank was born May 11, 1947 in Santa Barbara to Francisco Moralez and Paula Cordero Leon Moralez. Frank is a descendant of the Cordero Family (Mariano Cordero) who were one of the first settlers of California. Frank was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend to many. Always ready to help or listen to anyone.
His love for cars came from a very young age and he continued to tinker with them all his life. Frank was very proud of his service in the First Cavalry Division of the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War 1966-1970. Our dearest Frank, we thank you for your military service in Vietnam. Your patriotism to the United States of America is commendable more than words can express. You demonstrated Courage and Valor by risking your Life for your Country. You sustained a serious head wound but instead of returning home, you requested to stay and return back to duty. YOU ARE ONE OF THE TRUE WAR HEROES. You will always be in our hearts. Rest now our dear Frank.
Frank is survived by his wife, Eugenia "Ojay", brother Richard Moralez, sisters Alicia Aguirre, Rachel Crist, Sara Lopez, Manuela Moralez, Teresa Ramirez, cousin, Sal Juarez, step sons, Christopher G. Martinez and Sonny Granados, step daughter, Lucy Granados, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Native American ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. and a Vigil service will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday, February 12 at Brusie Funeral Home. Full military honors will be given at Glen Oaks Memorial Park following the Mass.
