Paul Adams

Obituary of Paul Eugene Adams

Paul (PA) Eugene Adams passed away on December 29, 2022 in Chico, California at the age of 76. He was born in Ukiah, California, on November 7, 1946 to Martha and Demerich Adams. He attended Chico schools and graduated from Chico High in 1964. He worked as a mechanic for a time at Paul M. Smith and Toyota of Chico until he found his true calling as a logger falling trees, working for Cal Oak. PA did many interesting activities: bronc riding in the Red Bluff Rodeo one year, driving cows for the Baccala Ranch, participated in the Rubicon Jeepers/ Land Cruiser Jamboree, he built a home in Forest Ranch and helped build a family cabin near the high lakes.

In 1990, he married Pamela Seaman in the small mountain community of Butte Meadows, California, and that’s where they lived for the rest of their lives. He was known as the “mayor” of Butte Meadows and took his job seriously by making sure everyone was safe, especially from the bear intrusion last summer. He was notorious for his stories, generosity and for helping “flat landers” who would get stuck in the snow visiting Butte Meadows in the winter time. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, 4- wheeling and loved to have a good time!

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pam in 2013, mother, Martha Adams in 2018, and father, Demerich Adams in 1983. He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Cervantez (Ron) of Chico, his nephew Rocky Cervantez (Mary) of Petaluma, his nephew Randy Cervantez of Chico, and his niece Regina Cervantez of Chico. He is also survived by three great-nephew and nieces (Chase, Ava and Elyse).

A Celebration of Life for “PA” will be held in Butte Meadows on May 26, 2023, at the Mercantile from 2-4 pm.

Special thanks to all his good friends in Butte Meadows who always looked out for him.
