Paula Terry

Obituary of Paula Joy Terry

Paula Joy Terry was born June 28, 1945 in Chickasaw Oklahoma and passed away in Willows February 27, 2023 after a long illness.  She was very proud of her native Chickasaw/Irish heritage and she had the most beautiful natural curly blonde hair and true hazel eyes.

Paula had a long career with AT&T during which time she was largely involved with the union, Communication Workers of America representing and fighting for the telephone employees.  It was during this time she was invited to Washington D.C. and was the first woman to drive a car in the then President Jimmy Carter’s inaugural parade.
Paula had a very quick wit, she was funny and also brutally honest.  It was difficult to get under her hard exterior but once you did she was a cream puff inside and you had a loyal friend for life.

Paula was predeceased by her parents J.D. and Frieda Corby Bare along with her brother Theo.  She is survived by her niece Marci George, nephews Dean and Kirk Bare, her friend for over 50 years Loma Piluso and Randy and Cindy Riggs.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date when the weather is nicer.
