Obituary of Claire Marie Richard

Claire Richard passed on May 9, 2023. She was born February 20, 1948 in Wild Rice, North Dakota to Donat and Maria Richard. The family moved to Chico in 1959. Claire attended Notre Dame School in Chico and graduated from Chico High. She married Michael Searing and they had 3 children, Michelle, Michael Jr., and Mark. Claire was very active in her church. She served as the President of the Legion of Mary. She enjoyed spending time at church retreats at Bucks Lake. Claire never met a stranger and was personable with everyone that she met. Claire was known as the “mayor” of Windsor Chico Creek. She is survived by her 3 children, Michelle Herbert (Sean), Mike Searing, and Mark Searing and 7 grandchildren, Angelique, Avery, Alexander, Natalie, Jordan, Ana, and Adrian. She is also survived by her sister, Diane Richard, and brother, Norbert Richard (Gail). Arrangements are under Brusie Funeral Home (www.Brusiefh.com). Burial will take place at Glen Oaks Memorial Park in Chico.
