Obituary of Aurora Marie Olvera
The burial of Aurora Maria Murgia Olvera will be held August 24th at 10 am at St. Johns Catholic Church. Aurora, Tina as many knew her, was born in Hanover New Mexico on August 24th 1932. Tina lived in Mills Orchard in Glenn County when she met her husband Tony Olvera Mendoza. They were married May 14th 1949. Tina and Tony were happily married for the next 51 years until Tony's passing in 2001 at the age of 79. Together they raised three children. Aurora is survived by her daughter Rosemary Ocampo, son Tony Olvera Jr., sister Gloria Barris, son-in-law Dimas Ocampo, son-in-law Alejandro Lopez, brother-in-law Pat Barris, sister-in-law Tomasa Murgia, brother-in-law Juan Casillas, brother-in-law Fidel Perez, 7 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Aurora's daughter Pamela Lopez passed on May 21 of 2020, and her granddaughter Lidia Lopez Sept., 2022. Aurora's siblings now deceased are John Murgia, Stan Murgia, Lilia Casillas, all of Chico Ca. and Estella Perez of Orland Ca. As well as her parents, Estanislad and Juana Mugia.
Aurora worked at Continental Nut Co. in Corning for 20 years. and later at Capex. Always with a warm smile on her face, Aurora loved to garden and spend time with her kids and grandkids. Always up for an adventure, she loved a good cold beer and to dance.
Closed casket vigil will be held from 6pm to 7 pm with a rosary given at 7 pm on Aug 23rd at Brusie Funeral Home. Mass at 10am. Thursday August 24th at St. John's Catholic Church on Chestnut. Buriel immediately following at Chico Cemetary. A gathering to follow at Tina's home 1004 Ivy St. Family and friends are warmly welcome.
