John Fingleton

Obituary of John Wayne Fingleton

John Wayne Fingleton "The Wayner" was a loving husband, father of 4, grandfather of 5, great grandfather of 1, brother of Jennifer and Liam, and friend of many. He left this world due to illness on August 28, 2023 at age 68.

He was born to Cynthia Rose and John Fingleton January 29th, 1955 in Felixstowe, England. After graduating from high school, John served in both the US Army and US Navy. After he was honorably discharged from the Army he went on to meet his beautiful and amazing wife Lorraine in 1976. Together, they had 2 daughters but raised 4 children: David, Matthew, Melanie and Amanda. John also worked at Sierra Pacific Industries for 43 years.

John loved spending time with his family making him the best family man out there. He also loved to keep up with the San Francisco Giants and Cleveland Browns and was a true fan no matter what. We will miss being around his generous, stubborn, hardworking, comedic, and loving self. We will miss him bragging about his big pool and his all day barbeque aka “marathon barbeque”. We will miss his crazy driving. We will miss him trying to have his birthday on everyone else's and will continue to celebrate our birthdays like it was his too. We love you and already miss you so much!

A funeral service is scheduled for 11 am on September 9, 2023 at the Chico Cemetery. We will be holding a burial service with a military Three Rifle Volley.
