Obituary of Esteban Jimenez Magaña
Esteban Jimenez Magaña passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023 at the age of 83.
Esteban was born in Comala, Colima, Mexico to Ignacio and Cirila Magaña. He learned how to work hard at a very young age with his 7 loving brothers and sisters while also attending school.
In his early 20's, Esteban made his way to California for a goal of a better life. Working in agriculture, he learned that he had a green thumb. He loved his fruit trees, home garden, and rose bushes. Soon, Esteban made his way into road construction. He helped pave many of the roads and highways we drive on throughout Northern California. He belonged to the local 185 laborers and construction union for 50 years.
Esteban met the love of his life, Elisa Magaña, in 1965 and they were soon married. He became a father to Diana and Rebecca, followed by Esteban Jr and Mario. He was a very proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Esteban loved watching his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids grow up. He loved watching their sporting events and accomplishments.
Esteban loved watching the San Francisco Giants, Los Chivas, and the Mexican national soccer team with his loving wife. He LOVED watching boxing most of all. He also loved to travel to Mexico with family and friends, to show off his hometown and state.
He was a superhero to his family, battling and defeating cancer three times. He showed us to never give up - even when life is at its hardest.
Esteban is survived by his loving wife Elisa; siblings Ramon and Silvia; daughters Diana and Rebecca; sons Esteban and Mario; grandkids Daniel, Derek, Rebecca, Marina, Mireya, Vanessa, Jose Angel, Donaven, Kaeli; great grandkids Jovanny, Mia, Noah, Nathan, Lucia, Samuel, Roise; as wells as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and friends.
Esteban will be greatly missed by the many people that have been a part of his life. He was well loved and respected. His smile, laugh, and jokes will be fond memories in all of our hearts. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Esteban Magaña, please visit Tribute Store
