Obituary of Louise Krueger

Louise Woodham Kreuger passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008 in Reno, NV. She was the eldest daughter of Timothy Brian Woodham and Goldie Agnes Woodham. She was born in Seattle, Washington on April 30, 1917 and later moved to California where she graduated from Susanville High School, Lassen Junior College and Chico State where she received a Masters Degree in Education. She taught in Chico's elementary schools for over 25 years. As a member of the National Reading Association she traveled to many different countries to observe their educational systems. Her passions were her family, reading, writing and gardening. She was a member of the Bidwell Designers, Chico Horticultural Society and for many years did the flower arrangements for the Bidwell Mansion using the flowers from her own yard. She was very civic minded and as a member of the Chico Women's Club and the Discovery Shoppe she devoted countless hours serving the community and making lifelong friends. She is survived by her daughter, Gena (Ron) Chrisco of Reno, NV; stepson, Edward (Sherry) Krueger of Chico; grandsons, Mark Chrisco of Chico, Scott Chrisco of Concord, Kenneth Krueger of Canada; granddaughters, Jane Chrisco Cebrynski of Scottsdale, AZ, Karen La blanc of Orange Grove, BC, Canada and Teresa Krueger of Chico; sisters, Kay Huntsman of Provo, UT, and Jean Schmidt of Clovis. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Edward C. Krueger, two sisters and one brother. Louise will be dearly missed by her many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Per her request, no formal service will be held. Donations may be made in her memory to the University Foundation, CSU, Chico for the Ed & Louise Kreuger Memorial Scholarship in care of the Brusie Funeral Home.
