Obituary of Lorraine Marie Trafford

LORRAINE MARIE TRAFFORD Lorraine Marie Trafford passed away at her home on March 1, 2008. She fought a long and very courageous battle with cancer for 8 years. She was born on September 7, 1930 in San Jose, Ca. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Emmett Cox and Lillian Catherine (Thiltgen) Cox and her brother, Emmett Leo Cox. Lorraine is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Arthur R. Trafford; her sister, Vivian Fulmer of Mesquite, NV; her brother, Gary Cox of Las Vegas, NV, and their families. Lorraine had many life-long friends. Lorraine was loved by those who knew her and will be greatly missed. Lorraine grew up in San Jose, after graduating from Lincoln High School, she took a job at Pacific Bell. She worked at Pacific Bell and AT&T for 34 years before retiring as a Business Office Supervisor. Art retired 2 years later from Pacific Bell and they relocated to Chico. While living in San Jose, Lorraine enjoyed frequent camping trips, fishing adventures, and water skiing. She so loved the time she spent with her friends and their families and their great camping adventures. She took the time to journal these events to preserve their memories. Often there would be up to 20 families gathered to share fun, food, and time together. After Lorraine and Art moved to Chico, she enjoyed spending her time gardening and cooking. Lorraine worked very hard to ensure that her gardens, both flower and vegetable, were bountiful and beautiful. She would share the fruits of their gardens and orchard with their neighbors and friends around town. Lorraine loved to cook, try new recipes, and share them with her friends. Lorraine loved spending time at home with her husband, dogs, friends, or a good book. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity. There will be a graveside service at Glen Oaks Memorial Park Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 1 p.m. Brusie Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
