Obituary of Mary Rozzano

A rosary will be held at Our Divine Savior Church on East Lassen Ave., Chico at 9:30 a.m. to be followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. on Nov. 6, 2008. Reverend Simon Twomey will be conducting the service. Deceased Nov. 1, 2008, Mary was born March 29, 1909 in San Francisco, California to Ellen and Daniel Twomey. She attended Saint Agnes High School, and upon graduation worked for Howard's Buick in San Francisco. Howard was the famous owner of Sea Biscuit, the renowned racehorse. Mary retired from business to raise a family with her husband Dante Rozzano. They were married for 59 years. Mary was very active in Saint Charles Church in San Carlos, Calif. She kept the altar cloth washed and ironed for many years. In addition, she found time to crochet more than 200 infant jackets and hats for the needy families in her area. Mary is preceded is death by her husband Dante Rozzano, her sisters Elenore Hyman and Catherine Hughes, brother Daniel Twomey, and sons Donald and Robert Rozzano. She is survived by her son Richard Rozzano of Chico, and daughter Dorothy Hartnett ( spouse Richard ) of Paradise, eight grandchildren, and twenty two great grandchildren. In addition, Mary is survived by her nephews Bill Clotere, Roger and Kevin Rozzano, and nieces Sister Mary Janet, Lorraine Woolery, and Betty Hyman. Internment will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity or the Torres Community Shelter in Chico, California.
