Obituary of Dayton Wood

Dayton Everett "Red" Wood passed away at Feather River Hospital, Friday, November 7, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the age of 101. Dayton was born on May 20, 1907 in Larimore, Grand Forks, North Dakota. He was the son of Ransom H. Wood and Bernice Rundell. Dayton is survived by his wife, Everal Grace Wood of Paradise; daughter, Arlyne J. Sykes from Victor, Montana; son, Larry D. Wood of Paradise. Dayton was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren. Dayton worked for Luxor Lighting Co. as a salesman in New York for 30 years, retiring in 1973. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1967, and served as an elder. Daytons life was eventful. He married Everal Grace Gunter on December 17, 1937 and was happily married for nearly 71 years. Services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7874 Skyway in Paradise. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brusie Funeral Home.
