Obituary of Muriel Davis

MOO DAVIS A funeral service will be held for Muriel "Moo" Jean Davis, 78 of Chico, on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Brusie Funeral Home. Moo passed away at her home on August 13, 2009. She was born January 12, 1931 to Harold and Edna McClelland in Creston, Iowa. Moo moved to Chico in 1937 and graduated from Chico High School in 1949. She attended Chico State for two years studying to be a secretary. In 1951 Moo was transferred with the phone company to San Francisco where she met Dave Davis. They were married February 21, 1954 in Reno, NV. Moo retired in 1983 after 32 years with Pacific Bell. Moo was an avid shopper and bargain hunter. She enjoyed teaching kids how to swim, traveling and spending time at Pismo Beach. Her survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Dave Davis of Chico; two sisters, Joy (Dale) Wilson of Igo, Shirley (Jim) Zirkle of Redding; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday August 19, 2009 at the funeral home. Donations may be made in her memory to the Butte Home Health and Hospice in care of the funeral home.
