A full obituary will appear soon.A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Brusie Funeral Home for Elsie Ann Hill. Mrs. Hill passed away Thursday, January 21, 2010. She was 93. Born February 29, 1916 in Oakland, California to Henry and Bertha Manka, she grew up in Morgan Hill, CA. She attended a two room schoolhouse, though the 8th grade and she graduated from Morgan Hill High School, and also graduated from Beauty School in Oakland. Elsie worked as a Beautician in Oakland. She married Arthur O. Hill in San Francisco on January 10, 1938. She and her husband owned and operated a stationery store in San Bruno, CA from 1946 until 1955, at which time they moved to Chico and became almond ranchers until 1976. Arthur passed away in January of 1978. She re-married Walter Hass in 1988, until his passing in 2001. Elsie loved gardening and sewing. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Hill) Henderson of Forest Ranch, CA and her son, Randy Hill of Chico; three grandchildren, Kathy Henderson, Paul Henderson, and Travis Hill, and five great-grandchildren.
