Obituary of Antonio Bemposto

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, January 31, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of the Brusie Funeral Home for Antonio F. Bemposto. Mr. Bemposto passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2010. He was 94. Born October 25, 1915 to Jose and Isaura Bemposto in Arcoselo, Portugal. He went to work as a Ornamental Iron worker in Oakland, CA for over 30 years, he then became a Vintner for 36 years in the Anderson Valley, where he owned ten acres of wine grapes. He loved to make and share his homemade wines with family and friends. Antonio loved fishing and was an avid camper along with his loving wife Christina and their many friends in the North State. He took great pleasure in farming and would give fresh vegtables and fruit to the soup kitchen in Oakland. Antonio loved talking with people from all walks of life. He was extremley proud of all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Antonio was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Christina two years ago, and is survived by a son, Frank Bemposto of Chico, and one daughter, Mary Rogers of Oak Hill, VA; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
