Obituary of James Brewton

James was born in Zenoria, LA on January 5, 1919 to Noah and Mary Elizabeth Brewton. He passed away February 10, 2010 at the Paradise Hospice House. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Sherri Lynn Rowe and most recently by his wife of 55 years, Iola. Jim leaves behind his son, James Perry Brewton II and Patricia Senceni, both of Sacramento, CA. He is also survived by his step-children, Michael Hoffman (Margaret) of Kodiak, AK, William Hoffman of Coeur d'Alene, ID and Andrea Fehling (Jim) of Post Falls, ID. Jim was a World War II pathfinder navigator bombardier, flying 30 missions in a B-24 Liberator in 1944. He was recalled for the Korean War in 1950. He was employed by Lockheed Aircraft of Sunnyvale and retired in 1979. They moved to Oroville, CA and eventually moved to Magalia, where he and Iola resided for over 25 years. He was deeply involved in Genealogy, starting in the mid-1960's. He was a member of Son's of the American Revolution. He was also a coin collector. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Brusie Funeral Home in Chico.
