Obituary of Joy Hunt

Joy M. Hunt, peacefully passed away on April 13, 2010 in Chico. Born August 9, 1920 in Kansas City, Missouri, her family then moved to Borger, Texas in 1921 where her father worked in the oil fields. In 1930, they moved to La Habra, California and in 1945 the family moved to Hamilton City, California, finally moving to Chico in 1947. While in Chico, Joy worked in the Sprouse-Reitz Five & Dime Store on the corner of 2nd and Main and then later at Continental Nut Company on the Esplanade. But mostly her time was spent as a housewife, loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her two daughters, Adele Johnson and Victoria Hunt; two grandsons, Sean Johnson and Ian Billings; a granddaughter, Amber Cranston; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Joy will be dearly missed. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 19, 2010 at Glen Oaks Memorial Park, Chico, California. Arrangements are being handled by Brusie Funeral Home.
