Obituary of Shirley White

A Graveside service for Shirley White, 74 of Cohasset, will be held at 11 a.m on Saturday, May 1, 2010. She passed away on April 23, 2010 in Paradise, CA. Shirley fought a brief but valiant battle with cancer. Shirley was born August 31, 1935 in Sacramento, CA. She graduated from St. Frances High School, Class of 1953. Shirley married Charles "Chuck" White. Shirley was the office manager for Dr. Paul Forberg. She was active in the Cohasset Vol. Fire Dept and was a founding member of the Cohasset Community Assn. Shirley enjoyed collecting antiques. She loved going camping with family and friends and was very active doing work in the Cohasset Museum. Shirley is survived by her son, Mark (Lia) and grandsons, Cody and Austin White; daughter, Michelle White Garcia (Tim); and grandchildren, Michael and Monica Garcia; sisters, Dorothy Marks, Nancy Peterson, and Kathy Dunlap. She is preceded in death by her husband, Chuck White and a brother, Michael Whiting. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Feather River Hospital Cancer Center or to Chico Natural History Museum at Chico State, in memory of Chuck and Shirley White. A viewing will be held on Friday, April 30, 2010 at Bidwell Chapel, 341 W. 3rd. St., Downtown Chico, from 5-8 p.m.
