Obituary of Vivian Wagner

VIVIAN M. (RIGGINS) WAGNER Vivian Wagner passed away September 2, 2010, at the home of her granddaughter, Joyce Warwick and Chris Brands, in Hillsboro, Oregon. Vivian was born April 1, 1918 in Red Bluff to the late James and Dean Riggins, the second of ten children, 5 girls and 5 boys. As an infant, the family moved to Shasta County, where Vivian lived and attended schools in Anderson, Gas Point, and Shasta High School until she turned 18. She then left school, and a couple months later, in June of 1936, married Lynn E. Wagner of Chico, where they lived together until Lynn's death in 1990. Vivian maintained the same home there until her passing. Vivian is survived by a daughter, Delores Warwick of Vernonia, OR, and her four children, Joyce, Kelly, Sherri, and Derek, and their families of Oregon; a son, Lynn R. (Sonny) Wagner of Chico and his two daughters, Darcie and Stacie; two brothers, Wayne Riggins and wife, Marylyn of Redding and Bill Riggins and wife, Dottie of Anderson. Besides her husband, Lynn, Vivian was preceded in death by her siblings: Evangeline (Tude), Clara, Jim, Betty, Glenn, Donna, and Robert. Except for about six years working at the Reyonlds Nut processing plant in Chico, Vivian was a stay at home housewife. She and her husband enjoyed entertaining family and friends at their home and traveling out of town to family gatherings. They enjoyed vacationing and had pretty well traveled all over the northwestern area of the United States. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 12 Noon at the Glen Oaks Memorial Park in Chico. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Butte County Humane Society. Please sign the guestbook at http://obituaries.redding.com.
