Obituary of Carmon Henson

A graveside service will be held for Carmon Verna Lemler Henson, 89 of Chico, on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Oaks Memorial Park. Carmon passed away at home on Monday, January 31, 2011. She was born January 14, 1922 in Lake Mills, Iowa to William and Rose Lemler. In 1944 she married Dean Henson. She moved to Chico in 1953. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, the Durham Grange, the Sons of Norway and was a volunteer at the Dorothy Johnson Center. Carmon enjoyed cooking, camping, gardening, reading, traveling, dancing, playing bingo and spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons, Jerry (Arvellia) Henson of Lubbock, TX and Ron (Donna) Henson of Chico; four grandchildren, Jill (Jay) Lowe, Christopher Henson, Emily Moore and Stephanie (Eric) Norlie: six great-grandchildren, Brianna, Madison and Heather Lowe, Audry and Diana Moore and Harper Norlie. Carmon was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Henson and her granddaughter, Sherry Henson. Donations may be made in her memory to Enloe Hospice or American Cancer Society in care of the Brusie Funeral Home.
