Obituary of Warren Rose

A Graveside Service for Warren D. Rose, 93 of Richvale, will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., at Pine Creek Cemetery. Warren passed away July 9, 2011, at his home in Richvale. He was born on January 8, 1918 in Chico, to Chester and Ruby Rose. Warren received a B.A. degree at Chico Normal School and a M.A. at U.C. Berkeley. Warren was a Army Air Corps Flyer and retired as a Lt. Col. in the USAF Reserve. He was a lifetime Rice farmer. Warren was a member of the Richvale Hunting Area, B.U.C.R.A Board Chairman, USAF Reserve, Drainage District 2 Board Chairman, a former ISHI Hunting Area Chairman. He enjoyed hunting, flying, working, fishing, and big game hunting trips to Alaska and Africa. Warren is preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Turner Rose, and his second wife, Barbara Koetz Rose. He is survived by four sons, Alan, an English Professor at Simpson University in Redding, Clinton, a Rice Farmer in Richvale, Richard, a Math & Physics Professor at CSUC, Chico, Stephen, a student at Chico and Butte College; seven grandchildren and four great-granddaughters. There will be a viewing on Friday, July 15, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. at Brusie Funeral Home.
