At the age of 13, he moved to the old family farm in Poysippi, Wisconsin. He retired from Butte County in 1986 as the County Assessor. In 1971, he married Beppie Marler, whom he was married to for almost 40 years. Larry enjoyed many hobbies, which included fishing, golfing, wood working, stained glass, and traveling. Although Larry visited all 50 states plus many countries and continents throughout the world, his favorite destinations that held such special places in his heart were Larry and Beppie's homes in Lake Almanor and Tucson, AZ.
