Obituary of Reba Benton

REBA V. PARSONS DAVIS BENTON A Graveside Service will be held Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Chico Cemetery for Reba V. Parsons Davis Benton. Reba passed away Monday, September 26, 2011. She was 88. Born January 30, 1923 to Campbell and Ada Barker in Warm Beach, WA, she attended schools in Chico, graduating Chico High Class of 1941. She married Ralph Parsons in 1945 and they spent the next 12 years in New York. Ralph passed away in 1958 and Reba returned to Chico, where she lived the rest of her life. Reba was a very talented woman. She loved to play the piano, and very much loved music, writing poetry, cooking and sewing. She is survived by four children, Patricia A. Ortiz and Lynn L. Sanchez, both of Chico, John P. Parsons of Paradise, and Mark D. Davis of Concow, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Wingo of Friendswood, TX, and a brother, Lester V. Barker of Cottonwood. Reba was preceded in death by her son, Timothy R. Parsons of Chico. Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in Reba's name, may do so to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Butte Home Health and Hospice, in care of the Brusie Funeral Home, who are in charge of all arrangements . The family would like to thank all of the staff at Riverside Convalescent Hospital and Butte Home Health and Hospice for all of the wonderful care they provided for their Mother!
