Obituary of Edith Ferguson

Edith Marie Ferguson, 78, of Florence, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at her home of natural causes. She was born November 12, 1933, in Willows, CA to Clarence and Emma Crabtree. She attended school in Willows until she met and married Jack Ferguson on October 8, 1950. She lived most of her married life in Chico, CA, where they raised their children. She worked many years for JC Penney in Chico until she suffered a stroke in 1979. She enjoyed bowling, embroidery, traveling, camping and spending time with her large extended family of relatives and friends. In 2009, she and Jack moved to Montana to live near their son, Michael. She is survived by her husband, Jack of 61 years; children, Michael (Cindy), Lorraine (David) and Kenneth (Diane); 4 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Gail Green (Rusty) of Willows, CA and Eva May Leonardo (Frank) of Bayliss, CA; brother, Ray (Susan) Crabtree of Willows, CA; her Aunt Mabel Torres of Bayliss, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Jennifer Leigh Ferguson. Visitation will be Thursday evening, March 1, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brusie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Hawthorne Ave. at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2012. Interment will be at Glen Oaks Cemetery.
