Obituary of Anthony Squillace

Services for Anthony Squillace will be held Monday, April 30, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Oaks Memorial Park. Tony passed away with his family at his side on Monday, April 23, 2012 after a brief illness. Tony was born November 13, 1917 in Rome, New York to Frank and Raphella Squillace, where he was rasied and educated. He started his first business nearby in Sylvan Beach, New York. At the beginning of WWII he enlisted in the Army Air Corp and in 1944, he was transferred from the South Pacific to the Chico Air Base. He fell in love with the area. He returned after the war to open, Tonys Italian Restaurant. He met, the love of his life, Marge Azevedo because of his Chico Restaurant, and in 1959 they were married. In 1965, they opened M & T Florist. Tony was an active volunteer and loyal friend and active member, of the Chico Elks, the VFW, and the American Legion for 65 years. Tony enjoyed a good poker game and visits to casinos. Tony is survived by his wife, Marge; his daughter, Maria Reynolds; granddaughter, Quinci Reynolds; brother, Dominick Squillace, and many nieces and nephews living in the Chico area. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a brother. The family requests donations be made to individuals favorite charities.
