Obituary of Cynthia Levulett

Our loving wife and mother, Cynthia "Cindy" Levulett, passed away Monday night, June 25, at her home in Chico from Parkinson's Plus Multiple System Atrophy; a rare form of Parkinson's Disease. Cindy just celebrated her 56th birthday on June 24th. In 1956, Cindy was born in Northridge, California to Vernice and Reid Potter, then moved to Paradise, California when she was 6 weeks old. She grew up on a small farm with her older siblings, Judy and Wayne, where she spent much of her time riding and training her horse Sunshine. Throughout her childhood, she participated in Job's Daughters, Girl Scouts, and 4-H. Cindy graduated with honors from Paradise High School in 1974. Cindy then went on to graduate with honors from Butte College in June 1976, with a Secretarial Associate of Arts Degree. She worked as an Administrative Assistant in a variety of Chico offices including Chico Medical Group and Gilbert Engineering. Throughout her life, Cindy enthusiastically learned new technology and was the first person in her family to use a smart phone. She married Neil at Feather River Meadows, in the summer of 1985. Shortly thereafter, her daughter Darcie was born, followed by her son Daniel. She was actively involved in her children's lives as a volunteer at Shasta Elementary School, including organizing a reading program, supervising students in the computer room, and as a 4-H leader. She supported her children's other activities, including soccer, little league, field hockey, and slot car racing. In 2005, Cindy earned her Real Estate License and began showing homes in the Chico area. In her later years, she actively participated in the Butte Rose Society and designed flower arrangements at the Silver Dollar Fair. Her hobbies included horseback riding, gardening, skiing, swimming, hiking, judo, volleyball, and softball. She also enjoyed doing handicrafts of all kinds. She was skilled at a variety of crafts, including toll painting, calligraphy, sewing, crocheting, pumpkin carving, and airbrushing. Her final days were brighter thanks to her loving family, Kitty from Enloe Rehabilitation Center, and Teresa Reinking. She will be missed by all who knew her. Cindy is preceded in death by her father, Reid Potter, and is survived by her loving family: her husband, Neil; daughter, Darcie, and son, Daniel of Chico, CA; mother, Vernice Regan of Paradise, CA; sister, Judy Potter of Rioalto, CA; brother, Wayne Potter and wife, Sharon of Paradise, CA; and nephew, Brian Potter and wife, Aaron of Paradise, CA. A Memorial Service will be held at Brusie Funeral Home, in Chico, California, on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. In her honor, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
