Obituary of Marilyn Arbuckle

MARILYN VIVANNE ARBUCKLE Marilyn died at home of natural causes with her husband by her side on Aug. 22, 2012. She was born in Chico on May 25, 1929 to Howard and Cora Shaw. She was youngest of 5 children. Marilyn lived her entire life here in Chico. She graduated from Chico High School in 1947. She married her high school sweetheart, Daniel Arbuckle on Dec. 1, 1949, who survives her. Marilyn was devoted to her family and spending time with them. She was an amazing seamstress and she enjoyed making and altering wedding dresses. After graduation from high school, Marilyn worked for JC Penney store in downtown Chico. She was a volunteer at Enloe Hospital for 20 years and an active member of the First Baptist Church of Chico. Besides her husband Dan, she is survived by her son, Vernon and wife, Maria of Manteca; daughter, Diane King and husband, Lester of Olympia, WA; two granddaughters, Amanda Harvey and husband, Barry of Ogden, UT, Stacey Boehmer and husband, Brit of Stillwater, OK; one grandson, David and one great-grandson, Cannon. Visitation will be on Monday, Aug. 27, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brusie Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Chico Cemetery, followed by a reception at The First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the The First Baptist Church of Chico.
