Obituary of Nancy Rabo

A rosary will be said followed by a mass of Christian burial for Nancy Rabo on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Nancy Rabo entered into rest at the age of 93 on December 22, 2012. She was born in Durham, California to George and Carrie Miller on 9-19-1919. She married Deno Rabo on December 18, 1937 and enjoyed 71 years of marriage. They raised their children David and Kathy in Chico, California. Nancy worked for Bedford Jewelry for many years and then along with Deno and Al Besegh began Besegh and Rabo Inc. After that they purchased Golden Empire Candy Company. She and Deno spent years traveling the world. They loved their R.V. trips with family and friends, spending time at the cabin in Almanor, golfing, playing cards, and enjoying life in general. Nancy and her sister-in-law, Dorothy, began Nan-Dora Creations and sold their crafts to the Nut Tree. She and Dorothy were members of the Horticultural Society and took 1st place many times at the Fair. She also was a member of Butte Creek Country Club, past president of Soroptomist, the Elks R.V. Club, member of the Candy and Wholesalers Association, and Notre Dame Guild. She loved the outdoors and along with Deno hunted, fished, and camped throughout the state. Her joy and happiness in life was entertaining family and friends. She loved watching and being part of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Deno; son-in-law John; Sisters Clara, Pat, Myrtle, Brothers Bill, Herman. She is survived by Eva, Tom, L.V., Harold, and Darrell; By her children Dave, his wife Jean, and her daughter Kathy. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jason Ferguson (Tamara) Dina Rabo. Amy Luiz (Patrick), Lisa Bender (Gretchen), Emily Headley (Andrew) and four great grandchildren Jedediah, Benjamin, David, Sydney; 2 step-grandchildren Normandi and Hanna and numerous nieces and nephews.
