Obituary of Robert Deter

ROBERT A. (BOB) DETER Robert A. Deter passed away Friday, January 11, 2013, here in Chico. He was 86. Per his request, there will be no service. Bob was born December 28, 1926 here in Chico to John and Edna Deter. He attended schools here in Chico, and graduated from Chico High School. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1945. He married Jewell McCaslin in 1948. She preceded in death in 1984. He married Dorothy Colm in 1992. Bob worked in the construction field for over 35 years. He owned and operated his own construction company here in Chico called, Robert A. Deter Construction. He retired in 1985. He loved fishing and hunting, and loved to play golf. Bob is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Chico; a son, Craig (Kim) Deter of Chico; a daughter, Chris Deter of Chico; step-children, Cathy (Mert) Johnson of Chico, and John (Barbara) Doyle of Apple Valley, CA; and two grandchildren, Scott Deter and Jeff Johnson. Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in his name may do so to the American Cancer Society or to the local Chico V.F.W. Post 1555, in care of the Brusie Funeral Home.
