Obituary of Clair Frazer

A Celebration of the life of Clair Frazer will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at Bidwell Presbyterian Church here in Chico at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Frazer passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 here in Chico. He was 92. Born September 3, 1920 in Bakersfield, CA to Robert Thomas Frazer and Bianchini Frazer. Clair attended schools in Bakersfield and graduated Bakersfield High School in 1938. He graduated from San Jose State in 1947 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Police Science. Clair married Georgie Frances Marsh, March 20, 1943. She preceded him in death August 9, 2002. Clair served as a Master Sergeant in the US Army serving in England during WWII and was discharged in 1946. Clair went to work for the Pacific Telephone Company here in Chico in 1965 and served as District Commercial Manager. He retired in 1981. Clair was a member of the Chico Rotary Club, and served as President 1971-1972, was a member of the Chico Chamber of Commerce serving as President in 1967, also Past President of United Way, Past Board of Governors Member of California State University Chico, Past Board Member of Enloe Hospital, Past Board Member of Butte College, and Past Advisory Board Member of the Boy Scouts of America. Clair enjoyed playing golf, baseball, football and traveling, and was an avid Giants and 49er fan. He is survived by a son, Bill Frazer (Susan) of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; two daughters, Janet Doremus (Jerry) of Chico, CA, and Frances Boswell of Fresno, CA; and four grandsons, Chris Boswell of Fresno, Brian Picchi of Los Angeles, CA, Michael Doremus of Los Angeles, CA and Rob Frazer of San Francisco, CA; four granddaughters, Michelle Giannetta (Bret) of Fresno, CA, Danielle Boswell-Smith (Brion) of Houston, TX, Jenny Doremus of Chico, CA and Beth Frazer of Sacramento, CA; and five great-grandchildren.
