Obituary of Marvin Joyner

MARVIN (PAPA) JOYNER Marvin (PaPa) Joyner left our sight Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013. His only child, Gregory Joyner (spouse LaDonna), is proud to say that his father was a loving father, a terrific grandfather to Trevor Joyner (spouse Shannon), and Krista Grove (spouse Neal). A wonderful great-grandfather to Grant and Hailey Joyner and Tatum and Felicity Grove. A World Ward II Purple Heart Army Veteran, an avid trap shooter, dune buggy builder and driver, a motorcycle racer, golfer, sand sailor and water skier, he lived a full and happy life. He was born in Alta Loma, California in 1924. His wife, Doris, of 62 years, passed in 2008. After the war, Marvin worked and retired from General Electric Flat Iron Plant in Ontario, California as a Maintenance Supervisor. They moved to Chico in 1988 to be near family. A Celebration of Life will be held at Greg and LaDonna Joyner's home on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 3:00 p.m.
