Obituary of Robert Johnson

ROBERT "BOB" JOHNSON Funeral services for Bob Johnson will be held in the chapel of Brusie Funeral Home on Saturday, March 2,2013 at 1p.m.Bob passed away on February 20,2013 in Chico. He was born on November 18,1920 to James lee and Maude Irene{Russell} Johnson in Devon, Kansas. Bob attended school and helped on the family farm. He graduated from LaHarpe High School in 1938. Bob began working in the Upholstery business. In 1939 he moved to Chico and met Lela Mae Wright. They married on December 26,1942. Lela passed away in 2009. Bob served in the Army Signal Corp in WWII from 1942-1945 in Hawaii and Saipan. Their daughter Nancy Lynn was born in 1948. Bob owned an Upholstery business and continued to work in custom design until he was 86.Including many years on the Island of Hawaii. He was a member of First Christian Church since 1957. He is survived by a daughter Nancy and son in law Doug Holmberg of Chico, Granddaughters Heidi Carder of Citrus Heights, Heather and Ron Criss of Dorris, Ca., Holly and Jon Dressell of Klamath Falls , Oregon, great grandsons Nelson and Spenser Quinley, Jarrett Dressell, Great Granddaughter Kenzie Criss. A nephew Alan Vaught of Prescott, Az. And a loving caregiver Dorothy Ford and many other relatives and friends .Arrangements are under the direction of Brusie Funeral Home
