Obituary of Ellen Ferrier

ELLEN FRANCES (DILBECK ) FERRIER Ellen Ferrier passed away February 25, 2013 at the age of 84. She was born on July 22, 1928 to Glenn and Martha Goodlive. Her grandparents raised her and her sister in Palo Alto; CA. Ellen raised her family in Durham and later moved to Chico. She also spent many days of the past 30 years as a vendor in Paradise, and waving at every passerby. She was known by all as Ellen's Melons and later The Rug Lady. Ellen is Survived by her seven children; Bob (Dilbeck ) Phillips (Dee); Bud Dilbeck ( Jo ); Tom Dilbeck (Nanette ); Shirley Powell; Marti Domyancic ( Bob ); Cindy Battenfield and Peggy Porter, along with Cousins Boyd and Floyd Thompson and Jacqueline Brown. Ellen was very quick to brag about her seven children, eighteen grandchildren, and twenty eight great grandchildren with two more on the way. Ellen always said, "I should write a book but no one would believe it " but she still enjoyed sharing her lifetime experiences with all. Services for Ellen will be held Friday March 1, 2013 at 10: 00 am in the Chapel at Brusie Funeral Home followed by burial at Glen Oaks Memorial Park in Chico.
